My name is Nicole Duckworth and I am a fully qualified and insured Reflexologist based in Bedfordshire. I offer home visits for reflexology treatments, allowing you to enjoy the session in the comfort of your own home. This means you can relax completely without the need to travel afterwards
I trained back in 2003 with an accredited Association of Reflexologists school and have been helping people ever since. I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists, you can rest assured you are in safe hands.
Reflexology is a non-invasive, holistic therapy that can work extremely effectively alongside conventional medical care, helping to rebalance your body in a healing and therapeutic way.
It supports in releasing tension often brought on by stressful situations, restoring energy levels, and improving sleep, helping you to feel emotionally and physically stronger.
Whether you are looking for support with an existing heath condition, want to reduce your day-to-day stress levels or would just like a little "me" time, my aim is to get you feeling happier, healthier and energised with specially-tailored Reflexology treatments.
I hope you find all the information you need but if you have any questions or require any further information about how Reflexology may help you specifically, please give me a call. I look forward to meeting you.
As a Reflexologist, my role is to promote health and harmony through this holistic therapy.
Reflexology has been used as an effective healing tool for over 5,000 years. There are several theories about how it works but the fundamental concept of Reflexology is that the feet and hands mirror the complete structure of the body and that by applying precise and focused pressure to specific points called ‘reflexes’ on the hands and feet, a positive physiological response is registered in the corresponding part of the body.
An exhausted, stressed and depleted body may not be able to fully restore its equilibrium, or balance without some help. Over time, health issues and disorders may develop such as muscle tensions, back pain, headaches, sleeping disorders, blood pressure issues and digestive disorders, to name but a few. By working the reflexes of the feet and the resulting contact with the meridians and calming of the nervous system, therapeutic Reflexology is able to initiate a cascade of repairing and healing messages throughout the body. While Reflexology may be used to reduce pain and relieve specific symptoms, its primary purpose is to strengthen, support and maintain all body functions.
What to expect during a treatment
Our first session together includes a brief consultation which helps to paint a picture of your current health and wellbeing status. You will be invited to make yourself comfortable on a super comfy padded recliner, your feet are wrapped in towels while you’re tucked up in a lovely fleecy blanket.
The feet are gently cleansed and we start with some gently relaxing loosening movements which are designed to ease you gently into the rest of your treatment. I will call on a variety of reflexology techniques depending on what you’ve told me during the consultation and dictated by what I find while working the reflexes on your feet. These movements are designed to work to encourage the release of blockages, which in turn helps to eliminate toxins, ease tension, and improve circulation. The process should not be painful but some reflexes may present as tender or sensitive, and these will be gently worked using a variety of different pressures and stimulation. Most people find the sensations produced during a session to be incredibly soothing and profoundly relaxing.
At the end of your session you will be encouraged to drink a glass of water as reflexology is extremely effective in improving circulation. We will have a chat about how you can care for yourself following your reflexology session so that you can get the most from your treatment.
Most of us have extremely busy and stressful lives and many clients find that complementary therapy can interrupt the pattern of stress and its impact on their bodies to such an extent that many of their symptoms are relieved or even disappear. The cumulative effect is even more effective, and many clients usually prefer to follow a course of treatments (4-6) with health and wellbeing progress assessed on a regular basis and any changes to the therapy plan made as needed. When clients feel that they are on a more even and healthy keel, they usually change to three-weekly sessions of maintenance or top-up doses less frequently.
Reflexology offers a powerful way to support overall wellbeing by helping the body maintain its natural equilibrium. It provides a moment of calm amid life’s demands, easing stress and tension while encouraging a harmonious connection between mind and body.
Reflexology encourages a profound sense of relaxation, enhancing the body's ability to respond to treatment more effectively. By easing tension and supporting circulation, it promotes the steady flow of oxygen, nutrients, and energy throughout the body while assisting in the natural detoxification process.
While not a cure, reflexology can play a valuable role in supporting the management of various health conditions, particularly those that persist or recur over time. It offers a natural, holistic approach to wellbeing, helping to ease discomfort and promote balance in the body.
